The information technology (IT) support manager is responsible for the management of systems and end user support. They will maintain and control the organization’s IT assets. Manage the internal It Support team and evaluate skills and performances, ensure end user service is timely and accurate on a daily basis, support technician, set specific end user service standards, contribute to improving IT support by actively monitoring and responding to end users queries, establish best practices through the entire technical support process, identify areas of improvement, evaluate daily, weekly and monthly team’s productivity, provide feedback to the appropriate internal teams like field services, to improve cross problems solutions.Â
His/her job description entails maintaining of a repository of assets and reporting these assets to the accounting departmentÂ
He/she manages the organization’s software needs, including carrying out installation of necessary software, as well as the safe protection of the IT base of the company by installing necessary protection tools, such as the Anti-virus software and other software needsÂ
The manager’s role is to ensure that all necessary mechanisms and inventories are in place for the smooth running of the organization’s systemÂ
Managing and controlling an organization’s Internet or Information Technologies componentsÂ
His/her duties involve carrying out installation, test running, and maintenance of IT equipmentÂ
Other tasks include networking, troubleshooting, and configuration of the company’s IT equipmentÂ
The manager’s role also entails recruiting, developing, and provision of mentorship to other IT staffÂ
He/she also offers training to member of other departments within an organization for the quick and convenient understanding of the use of IT equipment and offers professional help in fixing malfunctioning equipmentÂ
The IT support manager is also responsible for all data system backups and management of company’s electronic mail account, making necessary efforts to ensure that mails and information therein are protected and safeÂ
He/she manages company’s software and phone system and sometimes performs the integration of the two systemsÂ
The maintenance and installation of network lines and phones, routers, modems, and other equipment are also functions of the IT support managerÂ
Coordinates training and orientation for new technology users and helps them become familiar with equipment and networksÂ
Establishes relationships with technology and component vendorsÂ
Develops and maintains emergency plans to address equipment, power, or security failure to ensure preservation of technology and dataÂ
ResponsibilitiesÂ
Responsible for the management of the company’s Internet and information technologies (IT) assetsÂ
Maintenance of all information technology equipmentÂ
Manage the company’s system firewall protection applications or softwareÂ
Hire, develop, mentor, and train the IT support staffÂ
Account for backup of systems and all dataÂ
Offer training to staff of the organization and its clientsÂ
Responsible for the management of the organization’s email accountsÂ
Make effort for effective safety protocolsÂ
Make recommendations for the improvement of the company’s IT departmentÂ
Maintain right working attitude with other IT staffÂ
Respond to clients’ questions and support needs in a timely basisÂ
Handle the organization’s hosting informationÂ
Continuously seek improvement of the IT sectionsÂ
Stay informed of development in the IT worldÂ
Network computers in various departments when neededÂ
Responsible for the installation and configuration of software on computer systemsÂ
Handle diagnosis and troubleshooting of computers to discover and solve hardware and software faultsÂ
Handle logging of queries for both customers and employeesÂ
Responsible for analyzing call log to discover trending matters and issuesÂ
Qualifications and Education RequirementsÂ
Degree in IT and System Technology field or its equivalentÂ
Experience in heading IT section of an organizationÂ
Ability to attend to detail and respond swiftly to work demandÂ
Good written and verbal communications skillsÂ
Ability to identify and resolve issues regarding IT in a manner that is timelyÂ
Proficiency in management of people and team developmentÂ
Ability to stay connected with the reality and updates on ITÂ
Proficiency in gathering and analyzing informationÂ
Passionate about technologiesÂ
