IT Systems Administrator

BHS Corrugated North America is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join our team in Knoxville, TN. This is a hybrid position (remote and in-office) with up to 15% travel.

The Job:
As the Systems Administrator, you will provide advanced technical support and administration for virtualization technology (VMware, SAN storage, Citrix), server backup solution, server hardware, firewall and networking equipment, VoIP phone system, and specialty software. Provide the highest level of support for end-user PC-related requests to ensure that hardware and software are functioning properly and requests for service are handled in a timely manner. Be the official escalation point for the BHS North America IT Service Management Support Team and provide technical guidance and direction. This will include imaging, configuration, and deployment of employee laptops and desktops. The ability to independently diagnose problems and troubleshoot remotely and on site is critical as well as coordinating third-party repairs/purchases with outside vendors.
Responsibilities:

• Provide support for server hardware onsite and remote locations including local data center
• Manage physical and logical network for all locations including local data centers
• Assist with resolving local BHS NA phone system issues
• Support corporate video conference/content-sharing solution at all locations
• Provide Office 365 Exchange management and support, including Microsoft Active Directory
• Monitor corporate Business Continuity Backup Solution (Datto)
• Aid BHS Germany as needed for site-to-site operations
• Support onsite facilities as needed: server rooms, monitoring and alerts, scheduled outages, and maintenance
• Support and Install Access Controls and Surveillance Solutions
• PC Imaging solution for imaging of corporate laptops and desktops
• Ensure deployed hardware and software are functioning properly
• Configure and support corporate VOIP phone system
• Coordinate third-party repairs and purchases of parts and repairs with outside vendors
• Official point of escalation for Jira Service Desk, along with providing technical guidance and direction
• Troubleshoot user problems and work directly with all levels of employees on-site
• Provide a high level of support for end-user hardware and software problems
• Meet corporate SLAs for JIRA IT Service Ticket System and assigned projects

The Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required (technical or related field preferred)
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience within the IT field
• Results-driven attitude with the initiative to take on new responsibilities and independently manage assigned projects.
• Extensive understanding of current technologies and ability to learn new technologies independently.
• Experience with supporting Cisco Server Hardware
• Experience with PowerShell
• Experience with network technologies and firewalls
• Experience with Virtualization technologies such as VMware and Citrix
• Experience handling support requests/escalations in a high-level technical support role
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products, Windows operating systems, and E-mail products (MS Outlook and Office 365)
• Thorough understanding of network protocols
• Experience with JIRA Service Management preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues arising from user and hardware-related issues.
• Experience with PC imaging solutions and software packaging & deployment (Windows, Apple)
• Experience installing and maintaining user-related software applications
• Demonstrated analytic, written, and oral communication skills
