We have an opportunity for an IT Systems Administrator I, Infrastructure on our Information Technology team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 1 day a month in the office and access the Elk Grove, IL data center whennecessary.

As an IT Systems Administrator I, Infrastructure you will work under the guidance of the Director and fellow peers, this role is responsiblefor installing, configuring, monitoring, managing, securing, supporting, andtroubleshooting active directory organizational units, groups and group policy,Office 365 applications, operating systems, network services, storage,virtualization, and hardware. This role will also support the firm's datacenter and cloud infrastructure and is expected to perform functions to plan,monitor, maintain, update, and provide security and support to server assetsincluding the network, servers, and support all members of the team byanalyzing and troubleshooting systems and software. This role will handle avariety of projects to support and improve the organization's systems andtechnology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

SystemsAdministration

  • Responsible for management of SCCM and work on projects, patching and inclusion of products into SCCM.
  • Assist in the management of Office 365, active directory, Microsoft server OS, Cisco IOS, VMWare, patching and other systems maintenance activities.
  • Implement changes on servers or data center environment, considering compatibility, future IT needs, customer needs, AMA and industry standards.
  • Configure and provide access to Office 365 applications and systems services.
  • Integrate new applications into existing server and cloud environments.

Hardware

  • Assist in addressing hardware issues, including standardization, evaluations, configuration, and networking to all data center platforms.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping is current and effective and that procedures are in place and followed.
  • Document systems process and procedures. Participates in planning for system expansions.

System Performance & Security

  • Monitor system performance on all platforms to assure optimum response time for all applications and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Monitor services and resources as required to provide trend analysis and proactive analysis of potential capacity conditions and take corrective actions where necessary.
  • Help ensure that the logical and physical security of the systems is maintained according to established guidelines.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Minimum 3+ years of experience managing SCCM.
  2. Minimum 3+ years' experience of active directory management, including complex management activities.
  3. Minimum 3+ years' experience managing virtual servers using VMWare (tools, drivers, etc.)
  4. Minimum 3+ years of experience with Linux and Windows server operating systems.
  5. Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  6. Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  7. Demonstrate on the job learning and growth.
  8. Ability to focus on root cause analysis during incident resolution and problem management. Proactively manage systems through trending analysis, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  9. HS diploma or GED required. A degree in computer science or related field is preferred, as are technical certifications
