RedLine providesIT infrastructure management and technical support services to some of the world's largest supercomputing sites.
The IT Systems Administrator shall support National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR) federal staff with developing and implementing plans advancing STAR's on-premise IT environment, and supporting probable migration of that environment to commercial cloud services, to include designing, implementing, and administering said environment within a commercial cloud service. The IT Systems Architect will have experience with IT architecture support, including Unix/Linux operating systems, programming and storage technologies.
US citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are mandatory requirements for this position. This is an onsite position at the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction (NCWCP) in College Park, MD.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing IT architecture for an organization on an enterprise level and the migration to commercial cloud environment(s), including AWS
- Define system and application architecture and provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem-solving ability to organization
- Provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments
- Establish goals and plans that meet project objectives
- Has domain and expert technical knowledge
- Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management
- Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation
- May supervise others.
Requirements and Experience:
- BS/BA degree in a related area (or equivalent), and 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Strong experience in Unix/Linux operating systems
- Experience in an enterprise environment using some form of configuration management such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc.
- VMWare ESXi experience
- Enterprise storage (NAS, NetApp) experience
- FlexLM license manager experience
- Bash and Python scripting experience
- Web application deployment experience
- Apache and NGINX experience
- Experience with database driven applications
- Experience implementing and monitoring solutions
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
