Cart.com is looking for an Infrastructure Systems Architect to design, implement, and support all aspects of our corporate infrastructure footprint. This person will be well-versed in a broad range of IT infrastructure technologies and will be able to understand growing business demands and provide the right technology solutions to solve immediate problems while future-proofing for resiliency and scale. A successful candidate will not be married to specific cloud, server, network, or monitoring platforms and will be able to apply IT thought leadership across multiple domains in partnership with a diverse set of vendors to meet business demand. This person will report immediately to the VP of IT and will actively participate in the design and build-out of the IT Infrastructure team.
Responsibilities:

• Maintain and assess existing infrastructure and systems topology and identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement - from servers, storage, and data centers to networks and cloud environments
• Design, build, and integrate IT solutions to meet fast-growing company deliverables with a diligent focus on standardization and innovation
• Distill complex technical challenges into actionable plans for a growing team of IT system engineers and administrators
• Actively participate in new site network configuration
• Provide Level 3 support for new and existing IT infrastructure
• Evaluate and implement operational best practices for excellence in proactive monitoring, alerting, and notification
• Document configurations, system architecture, and SOP's and train a growing team of engineers and administrators
• Collaborate across all facets of IT including cybersecurity, end user support, and senior leadership on overall systems design and implementation for solutions that scale.
• Actively engage and manage vendors and partners required in the delivery and ongoing operations of our IT infrastructure
• Some travel for the purposes of physical IT infrastructure installation and configuration is possible

Experience:

• 8+ years system and network engineering experience
• 5+ years performing vendor management and network solution evaluation across multiple IT storage, server, network, monitoring, telephony, and cloud platforms
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field)
• Proven ability to negotiate with and manage third party suppliers and vendors
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex projects to meet time, quality and budget requirements

Bonus Points:

• Experience working in fast paced, startup or startup like environment
• Familiar with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and modern voice and data network architectures
• Experience working with international teams and in international markets
