IT Engineer – Cloud Team
Located onsite in Long Beach, California, the IT Engineer will be part of the team that is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of the different cloud computing platforms and applications that are required at Rocket Lab.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
- Provides subject matter expertise, advise, and guidance to deliver and support IT systems through efficient management of the cloud infrastructure and the delivery of projects.
- Carry out upgrades, maintenance, and with a focus on continuous improvement to provide a reliable and secure infrastructure.
- Lead project planning and deployment for infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to the Cloud Vendor Management and Configuration Management function(s) at Rocket Lab through the implementation of standards and automated build processes.
- Work with a team of world class IT, engineering, and business professionals.
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ year of experience in IT.
- 3+ of those years of experience in a cloud or infrastructure focused technology role.
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills – able to see the big picture, make connections and appropriate decisions.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS and/or O365 & Azure and/or Linux enterprise environments.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Scripting, automation, or Infrastructure as Code experience.
- Security frameworks and technology: ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, firewalls, etc.
- Network (LANWAN) and security product support experience.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and K8s.
