Essential Functions

  • Serve as both the technical Project Manager and ScrumMaster for infrastructure projects
  • Partner with vendors and provide technical support for upgrades, software inventory and performance/capacity management tools
  • Serve as liaison and technical support for AIX OS/platform and other software to assist with application owner upgrades and break fixes
  • Maintain documentation of infrastructure hardware and software components as well as various platform procedures
  • Manage business continuity and disaster recovery documentation for Infrastructure platforms
  • Lead reporting for the business office midrange software inventory
  • Maintain policies according to environment changes, regulatory requirements, and audit requests
  • Provide guidance and support for the managed service partners during disaster recovery exercises
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Intermediate knowledge of technical project management, including best practices
  • Intermediate knowledge of agile framework
  • Intermediate knowledge of IBM licensing, BigFix & ILMT
  • Ability to serve as liaison for managed service relationships
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 3+ years experience working with AIX hardware, LPARs, HMCs & VIO servers required
  • 3+ years of IBM software asset management experience required
  • Experience in infrastructure systems support, environment maintenance, and vendor management required
  • AIX OS, VIOS & Power Hardware administration experience preferred

This compensation range is for the IT Systems Administrator II & III job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in determining most appropriate job level and making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $78,000 to $104,000 annually. Depending on the job level, this position may be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
