Applied Technology is a rapid prototyping center within Motorola Solutions. We create proof-of-concept and lower-volume specialty communications products for government and private industry utilizing wireless technologies such as TETRA, LMR, GSM, UMTS, CDMA, WiFi, LTE and embedded systems. Job Description

The IT Cybersecurity Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting internal engineering teams and working with external solution partners to develop and maintain solutions that relate to business needs within our Applied Technology Department. This role will be responsible for creating, deploying, and maintaining network security in a highly controlled and regulated environment to meet government standards and regulations. To effectively perform these duties with Applied Technology you will be expected to conform to existing IT process methodologies and best practices. This position will also be assisting in the maintenance, design, and improvement of Applied Technology’s network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day to day management and design of the organizations’ IT cybersecurity solutions including, but not limited to, Enterprise AV, Endpoint DLP, MFA, and other IT solutions

• Have full ownership of assigned cybersecurity engineering initiatives for production infrastructure

• Maintain Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) tools for log collection and monitoring for malicious activity

• Assist in the organizations NIST/CMMC compliance and being a primary technical lead for CMMC/NIST audits

• Review security events from a variety of sources and identify security incidents and work with the appropriate subject matter experts to resolve security related issues

• Assist with annual policy reviews and updating of System Security Plans (SSPs) and running regular scheduled security assessments against Applied Technology networks and systems

• Responsible for monitoring and running active Vulnerability scans and reacting to vulnerabilities and policy controls on infrastructure hardware/software solutions

• Assist and provide support for organizations networking infrastructure (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, etc)

• Point of Contact for Incident Response and the triage and containment of all security incidents

• Continually train and develop skills to stay current with the modern threat environments

• Deploy patches and software updates via enterprise software deployment tools to remediate risks and vulnerabilities.

• 3-5 years background in installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise Security systems

• 2+ years background in enterprise network solutions (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc)

• Strong background in Linux and Windows based systems

• Strong experience with scripting languages needed for day-to-day management of systems and toolsets (Powershell, Batch, VB, querying, etc)

• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively and with attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to work across a broad range of technologies to deliver complex solutions

• Highly disciplined person with very good troubleshooting and analytical skills

• Ability to interface with customers and internal teams effectively

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Experience with Splunk is a plus

• Experience with IDS/IPS systems is a plus

• Experience with PaloAlto/Fortinet or other next gen firewalls is a plus

• Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines with a can-do attitude

• Ability to document systems and processes

Basic Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearances as required by government contracts.

• Associates Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related studies.
