IT Systems Support Engineer

The platform scales to support hundreds of thousands of network devices, whether cloud, hybrid cloud, or on-prem. In this role, your job is to support our operations and expansion, by configuring, operating, securing, and debugging the systems that we depend on.This is an opportunity to experience fast growth at a startup, while gaining foundational operations and debugging skills on a range of enterprise systems.

Responsibilities:

• Drive employee access and system configuration
• Be available during American business hours (EST likely)
• Interact directly with employees to remotely triage application, laptop, network, and access questions and issues
• Implement corporate security policies via software
• Administer cloud-based tools

Required background:

• Experience with operating, interacting with, and administering:
• Google Workspace (GSuite)
• Office 365 and OneDrive
• VMware vCenter/ESX
• MacOS and MacOS fleet management (Jamf, Mosyle, etc.)
• Access and identity systems (SSO, LDAP, VPN, …)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure..)
• Ability to effectively debug hard problems with limited information
• Understanding of application-relevant security concepts, including certificates, VPNs,  and encryption
• Understanding of network connectivity concepts, including IP address allocation, tunneling, L2/L3, and firewalls
• Clear communications skills

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with operating and interacting with:
• Jira project configuration
• Source code management systems
• File servers and NAS
• Physical servers
• Databases
• Backup and disaster recovery systems
• Comfortable with a command line

Salary: $65,000-$75,000
