The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an IT Technical Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• This position is for a Technical Analyst to work as a developer on projects applying Machine Learning and Data Science to various problems in IT Data and Analytics.

• This will include conventional ML (Time Series Forecasting, Classification, Natural Language Processing etc.), and Generative AI (LLM Fine tuning, Prompt engineering, RAG, Vector Embeddings, etc.)

• Requires knowledge of a programming language (Python preferred), relational databases (Snowflake preferred), and some understanding of software development practices (Git, an IDE, JIRA, etc)

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or Data Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

• One (1) year of software development experience (Internship and/or co-op experience is considered qualifying) in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Software development experience, using Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing

• Familiarity with Cloud Application Development

• Master's degree in computer science or data science from an accredited institution

• Experience with Large Language Models and their application (prompt engineering, Fine Tuning, Retrieval Augmented Generation etc.)

• Two (2) years of software development experience in a private, public, government or military environment

• Additional desired skills include Python, GIT, JIRA, SQL, UI Development (Streamlit/React).

• Experience deploying applications to the cloud (AWS or Azure preferred)

Work location: Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)

Travel: May include up to 5%

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $94,018 - $114,911, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
