Position:

We are looking for an energetic IT Technician with fluency in English to join our team at our La Vega location in the Dominican Republic. The selected individual will be responsible for providing end-user technical support, installing computer hardware/software, and troubleshooting problems. In addition, this role will provide network and server infrastructure support as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person, over-the-phone, and remote computer technical support to end users, primarily in the United States.
  • Promptly respond to customer requests, troubleshoot network and computer-related problems.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Assist in installing, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls.
  • Schedule and perform regular computer equipment upgrades, including firmware, operating systems, and application updates.
  • Interact with third-party hardware and/or software vendors by initiating and supporting vendor services as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and supporting documentation for hardware and software.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology to support future company needs and validate new technologies proposed for use.
  • Provide training to staff on various technical subjects.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in computer/network support.
  • Patient, well-organized, energetic, positive attitude, and customer-oriented.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential as the role involves providing support to end users in the United States.
  • Can work independently and ensure that the job is getting done.
  • Willing to work one weekend day per week.
  • Occasional evening work is expected for installations and/or troubleshooting.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds of technical equipment.

Technical Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Windows 10/11.
  • Working knowledge of Office 2019/2021 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
  • Knowledge of server, computer, and office equipment hardware: installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade.
  • Can pull and route Cat5/Cat6 cables, terminate network jacks, and patch panels.
  • Experience with enterprise networking and infrastructure management tools and services (AD, DHCP, DNS, etc.) is a big plus.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace is a plus.

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent.
  • CompTIA A+ or Net+ is a plus.
