As we progress on this journey, we need to establish a new and refreshed IT Asset Management backbone to our technology organisation to support our transformation. You will be responsible to lead, direct and operate the ITAM Discovery approach and technology strategy & tool, so that we are able to optimise our asset base and manage/reduce risk.
Reporting into The Head of IT Asset Management, you will be an integral part of the ITAM function, which is responsible for deploying and enforcing best practice on the IT E2E asset lifecycle.Â
What you'll be doing:
- Discover existing software inventory management tools, processes, and policies while plan for a long-term tools roadmap including emerging and future technologies.
- Define, own, and deliver a new ITAM Systems Product Roadmap across the full range of IT assets within WPP working closely with a cross-functional teams and while aligning with other in-flight transformation projects.
- Ensure the new technologies and tool deployment timelines are achievable and aligned with other WPP transformation programmes.
- Define, own, and manage the tooling and methods for automated discovery and data/system integration that will deliver accurate and up to date data.
- Design and develop the discovery approach to build a new CMDB while aligning with WPP IT strategy and transformation timelines.
- Manage the transition and migration of exiting CMDB to the new WPP Service Now CMDB
- Manage the transition and onboarding of WPP’s OpCos
- Design and implement process standardization and data normalization across all WPP OpCos .
- Establish practices to ensure accurate and timely reporting, including data completeness and quality .
- Develop insight-rich reporting and MI on our technology asset data to support strategic decision making and ongoing optimisation and risk management
- Identify and remediate IT asset risks, via ITAM tooling and system automations, including leading responses to software license compliance audits via comprehensive system automations and reporting.
- Maintain awareness of external market developments for ITAM (best practice technologies) to assess for potential impacts or opportunities
- Build strong relationships with the external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, other major bodies)
- Own and manage relationship with the senior stakeholders in WPP IT and the Operating Companies
- Build a network of peers to bring innovation and insights to WPP IT on the latest tools, techniques, and processes to deliver a future-fit ITAM capability
- Build high value reporting capabilities and information to support decision making at all levels of the organisation
What you'll need:
- Strong experience and background in IT Asset Management disciplines and ITIL
- General knowledge and hands-on experience with asset management tools (Flexera, SCCM, Casper, SNOW etc.), ServiceNow and CMDB.
- Familiar with IT infrastructure technologies (e.g. Cloud, etc)
- Expert level experience with Discovery tools
- Technical design and software engineering expertise – most notably in the area of tool integration.
- Demonstrate a strong technical grasp on key technical areas and ensure that this knowledge is embedded in solution deliveries
- Maintain an awareness of the evolving direction of Software Asset Management (by attending SAM conference and other forums), and use this knowledge in design decisions
- Expert analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyse and interpret significant amounts of information accurately
- Expert communicator with a track record of operating, partnering with and influencing business stakeholders and ability to translate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Able to lead highly complex programmes across multiple units and geographies with high-pressure deliverable
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced organizational transformation and able to navigate and champion change across organisational / geographical complexity.
