IV Team Coordinator

Job Summary: Performs diversified duties required to organize and coordinate the Intravenous Therapy Team and Nutritional Support Team. Works with Director to establish policies and procedures relative to programs and issues. Compliance with all patient care policies and procedures. Works with Director to evaluate performance of IV Team / Nutritional Support Team members.

Qualifications: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). BSN preferred. Three years of progressive nursing experience in an acute hospital setting with some supervisory/management experience. Certification in IV Therapy through INS (Intravenous Nurse Society) or AVA (Association of Vascular Access) required within 1 year of employment. Member of professional organization (INS-Intravenous Nurse Society). Thorough knowledge of general nursing principles, methods, and technique. Able to deal tactfully with staff, patients, physicians, ancillary professional, and families. Outstanding leadership skills. Considerable ability to manage, coach and provide motivated environment. Current BLS, ACLS or PALS as required by specialty area.
