Applied Research Associates Inc, ARA, is looking for a Senior Software Developer to support the development of the Joint Anti-Air Combat Effectiveness (J-ACE) operational tool used by tri-Service aviators, mission planners, and analyst. J-ACE evaluates overall weapon system effectiveness from weapon launch through target intercept and displays results in a graphical 3D environment. This position is located at Eglin AFB, in the city of Valparaiso, Florida on the gulf coast of Florida.

Joint Antiair Combat Effectiveness (J-ACE) - J-ACE is an interactive three-dimensional software product used by the Air Force, Army, and Navy primarily for air-to-air and surface-to-air weapons aerial engagements to facilitate training and operational tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). J-ACE is an operational combat effectiveness software application that consists of a collection of simulation models and tools and is used to calculate non-nuclear combat effectiveness against red and blue targets for air-to-air, surface-to-air, and limited air-to-surface engagements. J-ACE is used to authenticate air combat effectiveness for use in operations, training, systems acquisitions, aircraft and weapons procurement, and combat modeling and simulation.

Senior Software Developer Job Duties include:

• Write code
• Perform requirements analysis and develop software functional derived requirements
• Develop software designs that meet software requirements
• Utilize version control software such as GIT
• Utilize application lifecycle management tool [e.g. - Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)]
• Evaluate proposed software changes or additions
• Prepare software documents

Senior Software Developer Required Skills:

• Must have a strong knowledge of the C++ programming language
• Familiarity with thread-safe, event-driven, and object-oriented programming
• Must be able to work well within an Agile team environment and be able to adapt quickly to change
• Good writing and verbal presentation skills

Additional Consideration for:

• Experience developing large C++ applications
• Experience using a build automation tool such as CMake and using a unit testing library such as Google Test
• Proficient in an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Microsoft Visual Studio to efficiently troubleshoot and debug software

Senior Software Developer Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineer, Physics, or Related fields
• 7-9 years: Related Experience
• US Citizen, Able to receive and maintain DoD Security Clearance
