Job Description
A stagehand is responsible for setup, operation, and dismantling of entertainment related equipment such as lighting, sound, video, or rigging equipment. The stagehand is also responsible for inventory and maintenance of equipment necessary to complete performances.
- Prepares proper equipment necessary for event setup, operation, and dismantling.
- Installs equipment properly, including lighting, sound, video, and rigging equipment.
- Operates sound, lighting, video, and rigging equipment.
- Works close with a variety of tools and apparatuses, including hand and power tools.
- Perform all other job related duties as requested.
Required:
- At least 2 years of experience as a stagehand in a showroom, lounge, or similar intimate theatre setting.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Working knowledge in rigging, lighting, sound or video in a theatrical setting or similar work setting.
- Working knowledge of vehicular safety and operation.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
