Janitor - evening - Commercial Bldg

The Janitor is responsible for cleaning the lobby, restrooms, and common areas, and daily special projects Specific tasks include:  In Lobby: Maintain mosaic floor, remove trash, wipe surface areas.  In assigned restrooms: Deep clean.  In common areas: Vacuum, sweep. Keep areas clean, including stairs, interior sills and hardware  Special projects as assigned: e.g., Clean vinyl tile and wood floors in suites, clean light fixtures, prepare suites for move-ins, and after move-outs. Schedule: 8 hour shift, 5 PM to 1 AM , includes half hour for "lunch" Union SEIU Local 1 membership, after 90 days Requirements: • Experience cleaning Office buildings • Experience using floor equipment • Willingness to take on special projects • Ability to commute home from South Loop at 1 AM • US work authorization • Polish or Spanish a plus Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $19.50 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • Health insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan Work Location: In person
