Bloomberg News is looking for an enthusiastic Japanese Language reporter to drive our coverage of securities companies, one of the most important beats in the financial industry. You will join a team of reporters across Tokyo and other bureaus to break news on corporate M&As and large investments involving brokerage firms across the board from the major players to smaller outfits.

We'll trust you to:

• Be passionate about breaking news
• Be a self-driver with excellent news judgment and ability to develop sources across the industries as needed to ensure we are competitive on the biggest stories
• Spot underlying themes and new trends in the industry
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams, groups, regions, and platforms, including working hand-in-hand with English-language reporters and editors

You'll need to have:

• At least 5 years of experience working in business journalism including writing for publication in Japanese
• A solid understanding of the corporate culture in Japan and basic knowledge of the finance industry
• Passion for career growth and willingness to embrace change
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
• A strong work ethic; and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Fluency in both written and spoken Japanese
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization

• Working level English would be an advantage
