Job Summary

We are looking for a multifaceted Java Architect who can architect solutions that are designed to meet the needs of the customer. The individual will work with product owners, domain experts, and product managers to craft and deliver customer value. The role is encouraged to lead several internal software engineers in the delivery of custom cloud native applications, whilst actively influencing customer staff engineers and leads. The individual in this role will ensure that standard methodologies are followed, and that quality code is delivered. Lastly, Cognizant needs an individual that loves to be hands on and collaborate with other technologists and enjoys coaching.

In this role, you should be a great teammate with a sharp eye for detail and brainstorming skills. If you also have experience in Agile frameworks and most used coding languages.

Your goal will be to build efficient programs and systems that serve user needs.

Location: McLean, VA.

*Candidate is required to be in the office 3 days a week*

Roles and Responsibilities: • Analyze the Business Requirements. • Design and develop the components. • Develop reusable components. • Understand the legacy application. • Design the solution approach for App modernization. • Closely work with App team for delivering the solution.

Required Qualifications: • 10 + years of Core Java development experience, familiar with Java 7 or higher. • Experience with java development and aware of java patterns. • Experience in Microservices, Spring Boot uses for development. • Experience of development project and developed functionalities using java, j2ee. • Experience in Java Message Service, Core Java, Spring Core , Spring MVC , Spring Batch , Java , Microservices , Spring Boot , IT Service Management • Must have AWS experience. AWS services (S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, Lambda, AWS Cloud watch etc.) • Experience on AWS deployed application. • Fair understanding of CI/CD process and experience with pipelines etc. • Experience on Oracle or Postgres or DynamoDB to perform SQL. • Agile/scrum development experience. • Good collaboration and communication skills.

Salary and Other Compensation:

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
