Job Summary

Cognizant is looking for a multifaceted hands-on Principal Engineer who can architect solutions that are designed to meet the needs of the customer. The individual will work with product owners, domain experts, and product managers to craft and deliver customer value. The role is encouraged to lead several internal software engineers in the delivery of custom cloud native applications, whilst actively influencing customer staff engineers and leads. The individual in this role will ensure that standard methodologies are followed, and that quality code is delivered. Lastly, Cognizant needs an individual that loves to be hands on and collaborate with other technologists and enjoys coaching.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities :

v Responsible for providing technical mentorship in all phases f the development life cycle

v Be hands on, building and Supporting API's for corporate systems

v Collaborates with partner, product owner, engineers both internal and external

v Provides technical thought leadership and architectural solutions to the client

v Analyzes and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements. Codes and maintains sophisticated components of information systems.

v Operates as the point of escalation for internal software engineers on the project

v Responsibilities include attending stand ups, API development, participating in refinement and planning meetings, deploying to AWS environments, and production support

v Delivering outstanding engineering outcomes

v Participates in talent acquisition and interviewing activities when required

Required Qualifications:

v 10+ years' experience in crafting and developing microservices using either Java/Spring Boot

v Extensive experience in cloud technologies, specifically AWS services including EKS, Lambda, EMR. Glue and DynamoDB

v Meaningful experience with API concepts and technologies such as REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, YAML, and Swagger

v Experience developing within agile methodology using CI/CD pipeline

v Knowledge in GitHub Actions and Jenkins automation

v Possess outstanding oral and written communication skills to convey issues and ideas clearly and successfully to team members, management, and customers.

The annual salary for this position is between $[ 114,850- 172,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
