The Role

We believe making great products should be enjoyable and rewarding. Our teams are self-organising – most use scrum kanban or a hybrid approach that gives them the best chance to meet their collective goals. Each team has specialists in dev test (sometimes hardware too) and deployment who work together to create fantastic business outcomes for our customers.

We have hack days a few times a year with small yet perfectly formed prizes but mostly we do it for fun to learn and to prototype cool ideas that might help our customers.

As part of the ABT / EMV team you will build new features across multiple backend services at the heart of our systems. As we look at expanding our fare engine calculations and the architecture around it this role will continue to offer a complex and unique challenge for prospective developers.

We have the freedom of choosing the preferred tech and having the opportunity to work on different kinds of technologies and programming paradigms.

Location

Our Stack

We don’t expect you to know the whole of our stack. We want the stack to keep evolving as developers identify new tools and frameworks.

• Amazon tech (DynamoDB EC2 S3 SQS Kinesis etc)

• Spock/Groovy used for testing

• Fully cloud-hosted platform with Infrastructure as Code tooling(Terraform)

About You

• Solid core programming skills in Kotlin

• Desire to implement quality software that operates at scale

• Ability to operate as part of a team that owns their piece of software and advise on the best shape of a new feature
