Engineer III, Software

The Engineer III, Software is an experienced professional who participates in leading, creating and extending EnlivenHealth products. This person is a highly skilled developer who can apply industry and corporate best practices to produce quality applications. This person applies their practical and theoretical knowledge from Computer Science and previous experience in Healthcare or a related industry. This person works as part of a team to design and develop new products as well as maintain EnlivenHealth's current portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product management to understand business requirements and plan products and features
• Work as part of a team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
• Assist in providing technical leadership for the architecture, design, and implementation of EnlivenHealth software solutions
• Aid in code reviews for fellow team members, as required
• Create unit tests to help ensure code quality throughout the application's life cycle
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources once deployed
• Continue to improve code quality by tracking, reducing and avoiding technical debt

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive experience with Java
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills

• Thoughtfulness about creating the right architectural tradoffs in software development
• Enjoy helping mentor junior engineers.
• Experience in using SQL

• A can-do attitude and ability to make a positive impact our culture.

• Ability to work in a team/Agile environment
• Ability to always put the customer first.
• Extensive experience with Linux/Unix
• Experience deploying to production environments using CI/CD
• Experience with Object Relational Mapping

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics or other Science/ Engineering field

• 5 years' experience in software engineering

• 4 years of experience building enterprise Java applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other engineering fields of study
• Healthcare software development experience

Preferred Technical Qualifications:

• Experience in Spring and Hibernate
• Experience in Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience developing RESTful API's in Java
• Experience building event-driven architectures using messaging systems/service bus, such as ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ
• Experience with infrastructure components and apps including Subversion/GIT, Jenkins, GitLab, Helm
• Experience in other languages will be a plus: JavaScript, Angular, Ruby, Perl
• Experience with Camel
• Experience with Azure or AWS
• Experience deploying service oriented and microservice architectures
• Proficient SQL skills

Work Conditions:

• Onshore/Remote environment
• Ability to travel 5% of the time
• Adherence to Eastern time zone
