Java Developer w/Kafka

Position Description:

CGI helps clients take an enterprise approach to accelerate and maximize their return on technology investments through relevant applied innovation.
As a Java/Kafka developer in a cross-functional agile scrum team, you will facilitate, design, and develop technical solutions for new and existing Kafka-based applications and processes utilizing Java and Spring. You work with the best practices and patterns for using Kafka components in a micro services eco system. You will be involved in backlog refinement, planning of sprints, sprint reviews/demos as well as be responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
This career opportunity is open to all locations across the U.S., but the member must be available to work during east coast work hours.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Demonstrate hands-on experience in full development life cycle of Enterprise scaled software applications utilizing object oriented analysis, design, and implementation.• Work in an Agile environment and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the business.• Partner with scrum teams and liaise with Product Management to integrate Kafka components as needed using best practices to improve efficiencies.• Translate business requirements to technical specifications.• Collaborate with cross technology teams to integrate Kafka components with enterprise systems, setup/deploy infrastructure in private and public cloud environment, and develop secure applications.• Debug and resolve technical issues• Create technical artifacts, including process flowcharts, design/architecture documents, UML model, etc.• Ensure that functionality and performance metrics meet all product and service level requirements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer with focus on Java development• 2+ years proven development experience in Java Frameworks (Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate)• Proficient in JSON, AVRO, REST API's, JPA, Spring Boot• Experience in working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB )• 2 + years of experience in working with Kafka Messaging Platform ( Apache Kafka / Confluent Kafka ) that includes broker, zookeeper, schema registry, KStream / KSQL• 2+ years of experience writing application unit tests using frameworks such as Junit• Experience with different application design patterns including SAGA.• Understanding of Kubernetes and Helm Chart• Proficient oral and written communication skills

Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $80k-$138k*
