LTCG is a leading provider of business process outsourcing for the insurance industry, managing over 1.3 million long-term care policies for the nation's largest insurers. We also provide clients with unique risk management insight built upon our proprietary long term care databases.
As a Java Software Engineer you are responsible for the development of large applications, data conversions, etc. along with their design, test, and implementation, from requirements through to L3. This role may also provide some mentoring for Associate Software Engineers as necessary.
Works on complex software engineering tasks.
Experience of Lean/Agile software development environments
Participates in peer code reviews / inspections, bringing knowledge of techniques such as: reuse, performance, interoperability, defensive programing, security, safety, resiliency, etc.
Serves as a role model for other developers and peers, mentoring less experienced engineers.
Contributes to the continuous improvement of the department especially as it related to CI/CD and devops practices.
Brings innovation, contributes beyond assigned tasks, encourages morale.
Able to assist with data conversion and system implementation plans, e.g. setting up new clients.
Obtains industry-leading technical certifications, where appropriate.
Able to realistically estimate software projects.
Works under general supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor'sdegree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Mathematics, Science, a related field or equivalent experience, and 4-9 years' analysis/programming activities in a business environment
Preferred Qualifications
OOD (Object Oriented Design), Class Modeling, and UML (Unified Modeling Language). Various methods of system interaction, models, and protocols (Web Services, Messaging, SOA, RPC, HTTP, SOAP, TCPIP, XML, etc.)
SQL / PLSQL, ETL / SSIS, SSRS, etc.
Database and application design and modeling experience.
Java and .Net
