About the Role

In this role, you will be an advocate and coach for the team while solving various backend and frontend challenges, doing hands-on coding, and scaling product success at a fast-paced start-up. Our ideal candidate leverages their leadership, technical expertise, and passion to multiply the overall output of their development team. As a technical leader, you’ll help establish the team’s vision and see it through.

We’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of backend and frontend engineering with a passion for speed, quality, performance, and scale. You also love to solve operational problems and stand up infrastructure that helps your team effectively manage their environments and deploy easily. You should also be strong at identifying and building the right abstractions to support other engineers. Engineering Management or Tech Leadership experience is a plus.

Requirements

• Help coach and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers
• Design the future state of our technical systems by combining a strategic understanding of our highest-level product goals with a deep understanding of our existing systems to inform the right technical and product trade-offs for both short and long-term
• Steer end-to-end product with Product Managers and Design by engaging early and often to guide teams on the most efficient path toward overall goals
• Collaborate on our technical vision
• Lead discussions and implementation of multiple complex projects
• Continuously improve our engineering processes, tools, and systems that allow us to scale the code base, productivity, and team
• Proactively engage with your peers and managers to provide and solicit feedback

What You'll Need

• 8+ years of backend and frontend engineering experience preferred
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Python, Kotlin, or Java
• Experience working with web frameworks such as Spring, Django, or Ruby on Rails
• Experience working with UI frameworks such as Angular or React
• Passionate about speed, efficiency, availability, system quality and user experience
• A track record of shipping high-quality products and leading projects at scale
• An ability to turn business and product ideas into engineering solutions
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow and master your craft
