What the Client Onboarding and Account Technology product team does
We seek a talented Java developer to help us create state-of-the-art software at Edward Jones. We are looking for someone with a mindset for innovation and modernization who will look forward to collaborating with our team and stakeholders to help us build applications that take Edward Jones to the next level.
We are transforming by embracing technological advancement in the areas of containerization, non-relational databases, middleware and UI frameworks, all on a foundation of tried and true technology such as traditional relational databases and mainframes. We need an experienced Java developer who has in-depth knowledge of the modern software development ecosystem to join us in continuing this transformation.
What You'll Do:
- Design - Perform analyst role in design, code, test, debugging, and maintain of programs
- Develop - Modify and develop complex information systems involving most phases of systems analysis and programming
- Adapt - Shift work between different environments and multitask
- Implement - Analyze, design, code and document programs and enhancements
- Test - Conduct code walkthroughs to ensure programs meet the specified quality standards
- Plan - Assist with defining and meeting business requirements, preparing detailed software specifications, and providing program or system level estimates
- Monitor - Provide system support, including on-call pager rotation
- Mentor - Provide guidance, training and mentorship on the business impact of the systems supported, technical systems design, development of best practices, and IS processes and tools

Position Requirements
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical program preferred or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of Java software development and application support
- Knowledge of Spring, JavaScript, Git is required
- Knowledge of React, RDMS, Mongo, DB2, WebLogic, Linux scripting, Mainframe, Kafka, Azure, Agile, and/or financial services industry is a big plus
- Knowledge of Kubernetes is preferred
- Knowledge in the Spring batch is preferred
What you can expect
Actively mentor and train other associates in their area of expertise;
Provide direction as to the effective use of technology within the enterprise architecture;
Provide leadership related to technical aspects of tools, methodologies, best practices and processes and standards that apply to their technical area of expertise.
Research technical improvements and take the initiative to communicate/implement solutions.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills are required
Ability to analytically solve problems with and without a team is required
Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor, as required
"Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with a preference for Tuesday through Thursday."
