Java Software Developer - Senior
Job Description
As a Senior Software Developer, you will provide technical leadership in one of our government customer programs to build a web based, microservices and containerized enterprise solution. In this position, you will provide technical leadership and mentoring to a project team. You will have outstanding client engagement skills and conflict resolution skills.
This position is remote.
Successful candidates must be a USC/GC/EAD and be able to complete a Public Trust background check.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
- Deep understanding and minimum 8+ years of working experience in full-stack software development lifecycle and services delivery. Minimum 3+ years of experience in technical leadership
- Excellent Application architecture and design expertise in UI, middleware, database, security, and infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with Java, Python, Web API Services, Microservices, MuleSoft, Cloud Development (AWS/Azure), Docker and Kubernetes
- AWS Certifications are desired for this position.
- Deep knowledge and working experience with DevOps implementation and automated CI/CD pipeline using Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, SoapUI, JMeter, Selenium, and other similar tools
- Working experience with Agile development process
- Extensive knowledge and working experience with various web development frameworks are highly desirable
- Must be able to demonstrate strong ability to develop design artifacts and present solution to the customer
- Able to develop, manage and maintain Software Development Life Cycle Artifacts.
- Broad IT industry knowledge, deep expertise in one or more technical areas: User experience, SOA, Microservices, Enterprise Service Bus, database design, access and identity management, high availability infrastructure
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for overall program technology implementation.Â
- Work closely with business analysts, customer business, IT and security stakeholders, identify and document business and technical requirements, and system quality metrics including security, usability, performance, scalability, availability, manageability, etc.
- Lead the design of multi-discipline enterprise system solution that meets business and technical requirements. Setup program technical standards, guideline and reference implementation.
- Provide technical leadership to a development team, oversee and review the technical implementation
- Guide developers on design, coding and DevOps, and ensure best practices and required IT standards are met
- Conduct market research, evaluate technologies and vendor products, make recommendations that fit the needs of the customer in a cost-effective way.
- Lead the implementation Proof-Of-Concept (POC) on key technologies
- Produce architecture artifacts such as overall architecture diagram, system component diagram, sequence diagram, database schema diagram, etc. and required technical documents following customer's SDLC process.Â
- Represent the program, present the solution architecture and technical implementation to broader customer business and IT community. Participate into cross-program IT governance committee.
- Working with corporate technical leadership team, drive innovation and new capabilities
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10+ years of professional experience; or 8+ years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
