Java Software Engineer

Your role

Do you want to drive the next level of application architecture in the Compliance IT space? Would you like to apply Agile at scale while developing state of the art Case Management Platform? How about shaping the future of Compliance technology together with a fun-loving cross-functional team?

We are looking for a seasoned Java software engineer to:

• analyze business requirements for the applications managed within the crew and implement new features • help us build state of the art solutions using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, etc. • work with Agile methodologies and tools such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence etc. • support business users, which involves troubleshooting, debugging and upgrade existing software / database • integrate software components and third-party programs • demonstrate superior problem-solving skills, collaboration skills in working closely with other development, testing and implementation teams to roll-out important regulatory and business improvement programs

Your team

You will be a key member of a expanding team that is part of the Compliance Technology function. We are a small friendly bunch who take pride in the quality of work that we do. As a team, we provide AI based solutions on top of a big data platform, working closely with peers from the business led data science team, as well as other engineering teams.

Your expertise

• degree level education; preferably Computer Science (Bachelor or Master's degree) • ideally 7 to 10 years of hands-on design and development experience in several of the relevant technology areas (Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Hibernate, etc.) • strong coding skills in Java, Spring Boot and other Java based frameworks (must have) • experience and expertise working in a microservices based architecture • practical experience in working with Oracle (PL/SQL) and Postman • experience in working in a MS Azure (added advantage) • experience in coding skills in JavaScript or Shell scripting (added advantage) • experience in ACTIMIZE (RCM, ActOne) is a plus • Agile methodology, Test Driven Development and DevOps practices part of your DNA (GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, Salt stack, Ansible, Docker) • demonstrate strong communication skills, both to management and teams • background in IB or Finance domain with good understanding of finance principles (added advantage) • strong analytical and problem solving skills
