Our practice is seeking a highly qualified Java Technical Architect with experience developing and building impactful, scalable, enterprise applications. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. Responsibilities• Development of high-level solution design, for applications & systems and evaluations. • Leads and/or participates in reviews of design concepts and creation of technical design documentation.• Developing initial estimates for solution alternatives and making solution recommendations to the business area.• Initiate, identify and coordinate the analysis of sophisticated client needs in project areas such as: new business operating models, innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness assessment.• Participate in the leadership of multi-functional and/or cross-divisional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources and distribution paths, and system specifications.• Develop the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective solutions that support client business processes and functional requirements and resource costs.• Consult on the identification and solution alternatives within the frameworks provided by Enterprise Architecture.• Sees opportunities for solution sharing and reuse.• Identifies and coordinates with other project managers and implements schedule deadlines as appropriate.• Advises clients on the consequences of actions. Communicate risks and ensures understanding of these risks. Jointly develops risk assessment of plan with client.• Participate in Enterprise Architecture integration, partnering and coordination activities

Qualifications• 5+ years Web Service design, Java development, and delivery experience.• 13+ years Distributed Application development.• 3+ years framework and reusable component development.• 10+ years Enterprise/Application architect experience in Java and front-end technologies.• 5+ years' experience with software development methodologies. RUP, Agile, Waterfall.• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, Masters preferred• Must have strong problem-solving skills.• Experience with financial analysis and business justification.• Ability to communicate and interact with different levels of an organization structure.• Passionate about technology and willing to disrupt by exploring the innovative.• Ability to influence through partnership and collaboration.• Ability to communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to leaders and business partners.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Initiate, identify and coordinate the analysis of complex client needs in project areas such as: new business operating models, innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $102K - $187K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
