THE POSITION
Continental, recognized in Forbes Top 100 @America's Best Employers@ List, is looking for skilled Java web developer / architect to support their Tire divisions enterprise Tire Monitoring environment, ContiConnect. The environment is based on micro service architecture and provides features and services to over 30 countries globally. The individual will be collaborating with Continental's teams in the EU to develop functionality with the target for our systems to be best in class.
Responsibilities:
• Capability to design and develop using Java Spring Boot framework.• Capability to provide level 3 production support.• Collaboration with business partners to analyze user requirements and business objectives to determine application features and functionality.• Collaboration with front end team members for development of restful APIs.• Collaboration with global team members in Europe and Malaysia to enhance/extend applications functionality.• Aligning application design with business goals.• Responsibility to develop test code / test scenarios ensuring high quality. • Ability to efficiently debug and resolve technical issues.• Compile technical documentation and user assistance material, requiring excellent written communication.• Ensure continuous professional self-development.• Follow Scrum/Agile methodologies to organize and plan projects.• Embrace Continental's core values: Trust, freedom to act, passion to win and for one another.

Job Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree• 2+ years of professional experience Advanced-level Java programming • Advanced experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Eureka• Advanced in developing web applications (apps)• Capability to support Full Stack / dev-ops.• Proficient with continuous integration tools such as git, Jenkins, Sona Qube, • Exposure to Angular JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Karma testing framework.• Experience with user interface design• Experience with database structures and statistical analyses.• Ability to communicate effectively with a software development team members.• Exposure to with BDD [Behavior Driven Development] paradigm.• Proficient with testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, Cucumber.• Ability to model data in relational database such as PostgreSQL• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication.• Good organizational skills.• Able to work with minimal supervision.• BA or higher degree, ideally in Computer Science or related field.• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will only sponsor current Continental employees for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional IT Certification, preferred.
