JIRA/Confluence Administrator
Job Description
Overview
We are searching for an experienced JIRA/Confluence Administrator with system administration experience in Bethesda, MD to support our organization as part of a highly talented, highly-motivated and high-performing team. As the Jira Administrator, you’ll be supporting an exciting program involving the design, development, test, and deployment of a complex cloud-based system. Responsibilities:
- Develop & maintain custom Jira workflows based upon business requirements
- Create custom permission schemes, notification schemes, screens, and similar configuration changes on a project by project basis
- Manage multiple projects on several different Jira instances
- Manage custom add-ons and determine when/where they should be implemented
- Develop new solutions on production systems while maintaining appropriate change controls.
- Develop integrations between Jira, Confluence, and other tools utilizing APIs
- Work with business partners to define requirements for advanced customizations, automation, and integrations. Implements customizations utilizing Jira and Confluence tools
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to define requirements, design solutions, and test implementations
Qualifications:
Required Skills
- You have 2-5 years of experience in System Administration or a related field
- You have 2-5 years of experience managing and providing Jira accounts
- You are familiar with Jira development, test, and security accreditation.
- You have experience in supporting Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, and Confluence (ideally familiar with Jira Data Center, and Confluence Data Center)
- You have experience supporting designing, building, and accrediting Jira in a classified environment
- You have a basic understanding of Linux systems, networking, HTTPS, firewalls, SSO, SAML
- You are familiar with the Atlassian product life-cycle as it relates to upgrades and installing/ configuring new add-ons
- You have knowledge of and the ability to apply, process design and redesign skills
- You have the ability to troubleshoot operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, contributing to upgrades and implementation of new functionality, and providing the overall upkeep and maintenance of Jira and Confluence instances
Desired Skills
- You have familiarity with current NIH customer systems and associated security policies/procedures.
- You have experience working with Windows and UNIX systems in a Jira environment
- You have solid written and verbal communication skills
- You are detail/ process oriented, can multi-task, and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with management, the customer and user organizations across NIH.
