Job Developer

Montefiore Medical Center's outpatient substance use treatment programs assist individuals to become drug and alcohol free. These treatment programs provide medically assisted treatment as well as group and individual counseling, primary medical care, psychiatric and vocational rehabilitation services.
Provide patients with instruction in identifying job related skills/interests and with resume writing, job search and interview techniques. Provide full support to employed patients to improve employment retention outcomes.

Responsibilities:• Assist patients with identifying job-related interests, skills and barriers to ascertain readiness for work and to match patients to potential employment opportunities• Instruct patients on resume writing, job search, and interviewing skills• Facilitate groups (i.e., Job Club, skills acquisition groups) to motivate patients for work, provide an environment for employed patients to share experiences and information and troubleshoot issues that may affect employment• Assist with applications for jobs, training programs and educational programs for patients• Update and maintain SATP jobs/training database• Assist patients with criminal records in applying for Certificates of Relief to increase the number of jobs for which they are eligible• Consistently track employment and training data for programs and submit OASAS vocational statistics as required• Coordinate with counselors and other staff as needed• Document all patient contact and outreach efforts in electronic medical record, including vocational screenings, assessments, visits and phone notes

Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree required• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) required• Excellent oral/written communication skills; ability to find creative solutions to challenges• Prior experience with job development and employment preparation• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel

The hours vary between shifts of 7:00am - 3:30pm or 9am - 5:30pm on different days.

The salary is $45,191.25 - $60,255.00.

This is a 100% grant funded position.
