Job Description

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Provide overall coordination and accountability for the entire preparation process, including coordination of all key operational areas ensuring timelines are met and deadlines are achieved for Phase I-Phase IV studies, consulting and other various types of services as provided by company
  • Provide extensive review of client materials to disseminate information to the project team, senior management and sales leads. Able to identify information gaps and/or discrepancies, unique service requirements and translate information into proposal and budget
  • Coordinate and facilitate strategy meeting identifying all key roles needed for appropriate proposal and budget development including all management, vendors and partners
  • Prepares edits and customizes proposal text to accurately reflect client needs and project team’s strategic message. Ensuring all information is accurate and clearly stated including statistics, assumptions, processes described, etc.
  • Develops full project budget to accurately reflect resourcing needs for services requested using excel based costing tool.Ā  Responsible for analyzing budget for company metrics, appropriate pricing and accurate assumptions based on communications across the relative departments, partners and vendors needed for the project. Able to use sophisticated financial formulas to assist the team in capturing appropriate details, unique budgetary needs and mapping to client grids
  • Communicate, review and negotiate with all partners and vendors during the proposal development.Ā  Including provision of information, service and assumption requirements, timelines, budget metrics etc.
  • Answer client questions regarding proposed budget and operational strategy via written and verbal communications
  • Work with project team to identify need for and develop change orders for ongoing studies. Including budget development and justification for such need.Ā  Communication with client to support project team in the delivery of change orders and providing necessary information to support the adjustments needed
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of all departmental proposal tools including such areas as the costing tool, text templates, RFI libraries, etc.
  • Assists in the development of departmental procedures and training of lesser-experienced resources. Assists in cross-functional training of department staff involved in proposal development
  • Assists in the maintenance of departmental records and internal and intercompany reporting requirements including financial analysis of budgeted studies

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of 4 years of experience in proposal development in the life sciences arena

Other required:

  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently toward delivering high quality, client-ready operational budgets and proposals.
  • Strong organizational and time managementĀ skills including ability to quickly shift priorities
  • Detail oriented, with a high focus on quality
  • High proficiencyĀ in Excel and other Microsoft applications
  • Able to work in a collaborative team environment to support departmental/company goals and values

Preferred:

1 year in a CRO environment
