Your Role:
As Joining Technologies Engineer, you’ll be working with some of the industry’s brightest minds to:
- Develop, improve, and implement joining strategies for Fanuc robotic equipment in the body shop area of our automotive manufacturing facility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and production personnel, to maintain and optimize the joining systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including control specifications, programming guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and upgrades of joining systems to ensure their reliability and safety.
- Provide training and support to production operators and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of joining systems.
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers for the procurement of robotic equipment and spare parts.
- Adhere to safety regulations and ensure compliance with industry standards during all phases of robot system integration and operation.
Basically, you’ll ensure that the Body department meets its goals, achieving both high customer and high employee satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong experience in designing, programming, and troubleshooting automated, and manual joining equipment in the Body Shop.
- Familiarity with SPRs, welding, fastening, riveting, clinching, sealing, and hemming.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong familiarity with principles of automotive body processes, optimization, launch of new products.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and travel occasionally to support project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the body structure and materials
- Knowledge of PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as FANUC KAREL, TP, or similar robotic programming languages.
- A diverse skillset including ability to work under pressure, conflict management, multitasking, prioritizing
- Excellent communication skills and team-working tendencies
- A genuine fascination for the automotive body field and a commitment to global change
Annual Salary Range:
($105K - $130K DOE), plus benefits and incentive plans
