About the Opportunity:
NSC Staffing is currently hiringJourneyman Structural Weldersfor long-term shipyard work inJacksonville, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled team supporting the repair and modernization of a wide range of marine vessels — includingU.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, and commercial ships.

Position Overview:
TheStructural Welderwill perform a variety of structural welding duties in a fast-paced ship repair environment. You will be responsible for reading blueprints, performing high-quality welds using SMAW and FCAW processes, and ensuring work meets all required specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform structural welding on steel components in accordance with drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Execute strong, clean welds usingSMAWandFCAWprocesses.
• Inspect welds for accuracy, defects, and adherence to QA/QC standards.
• Safely use welding tools, power equipment, and PPE per OSHA and shipyard regulations.
• Read and interpret blueprints and understand commercial vessel terminology.
• Work efficiently in confined spaces, onboard vessels, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Maintain work quality and productivity while meeting project deadlines.
Qualifications:
• 3–5 years of recent shipyard experience(Commercial Ship Repair or Navy Shipbuilding required).
• Proficient inSMAW (Stick)andFCAW (Flux Core)processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Familiarity with shipyard safety procedures and marine repair environments.
• Must have required PPE and tools (chipping hammer, wire brush, welding hood, gloves, etc.).
• Must be aU.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).
• Willing to work6–7 days per weekand flexible with 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
