Job Description

Torch Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated and incentivized journeyman system administrator that can work with a team to monitor, update, and support a Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) fully implemented THAAD lab. Major emphasis on configuration management for the tooling process. Candidates will perform firmware updates, software updates, network configurations, and standing up new systems. Candidates will be required to travel for up to 4 weeks at a time to support Flight Tests.

Primary responsibilities include installation, configuration and maintenance of system hardware, software and related infrastructure on multiple UNIX/Linux hardware platforms. Skills desired but are not limited to:
  • Provide Mid-Level system administration support for computer systems/users participating in MDA test events.
  • Monitor system cybersecurity compliance scans to ensure scans are complete and authenticated.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support for hardware and software installations of Tactical and Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) hardware.
  • Monitor system audit logs, archives, backups and user activity to verify system integrity and review for unauthorized access.
  • Perform regular Configuration Management audits to maintain compliance with system baselines.
  • Manage user accounts on classified systems in a multi-factor authentication (MFA) environment to include establishment, disabling, and deletion per approved processes.
  • Create and manage role-based privileged user accounts.
  • Perform DISA SCC SCAP and NESSUS cybersecurity scans, IAVM patch installation, and manual system configurations in accordance with DISA STIGs.
  • Perform system backup and restore procedures and verify compliance.
  • develop, track and maintain status of the baseline configuration for each deployed system using existing tooling.
  • As required develop Plans of Action & Mitigation (POA&M) to document deviations from approved DISA STIG requirements
  • Ability to travel to remote locations and support fielded Army training exercises.
  • NTP, time management
  • Working knowledge of the RMF process leading to acquiring and maintaining an ATO.


Job Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Working knowledge and experience with UNIX/Linux servers and workstations
  • In accordance with DoD 8570.1M, the candidate must have an IAT-II level baseline certification (CompTIA Security+)
  • Candidate must have a Computing Environment Certification (Linux+, Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent)
  • Current/Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to travel in support of the mission for approximately 4 weeks at a time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with BASH scripting, Perl, SNOLOGY, SGI hardware, THAAD radar and Fire Control hardware/software
  • Experience supporting users in a software development and data analysis environment.
  • Experience that demonstrates skill with network support, hands-on implementation, configuration and trouble-shooting of multiple networking platforms and hardware devices.

The position requires that candidate hold a secret level security clearance to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in the candidate being ineligible for this position.
