Junior Network Administrator

Location: Dallas Area (On-site)

Overview: The Junior Network Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure across various datacenter facilities. This includes working closely with network switches, Wi-Fi access points, and firewalls. This role also liaises with regional vendors, including Structured Cabling, BMS (Building Management System), and IT, to extend and support the networks.

While primarily stationed in the Dallas area, this position will also provide remote IT support, addressing non-networking related issues in Dallas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, install, and maintain network infrastructure components: switches, access points, and firewalls.
• Oversee network performance, executing troubleshooting when necessary.
• Uphold stringent network security through the enforcement of protocols and procedures.
• Create and keep up-to-date network documentation and diagrams.
• Offer technical support to Operations and Delivery teams facing network problems.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues to address IT challenges and participate in IT projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related domain.
• 1-2 years of experience in a comparable role.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP. Familiarity with the OSI model is crucial.
• Hands-on experience with networking tools like Wireshark and Ping.
• Proficient in Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities paired with strong communication skills.
• Valid Driver's license with a personal vehicle, available for travel in the Montreal vicinity.
• Openness to North American travel as business demands.
