Jr. Financial Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Allocating received payments for all account types and currencies
• Reconciling bank accounts to business systems
• Preparation of reconciliation reports and providing related support to company accountants during financial month end close
• Reconciling customer accounts to ensure accuracy and identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Processing refunds and adjustments
• Investigating chargeback requests and resolving payment disputes
• Management and resolution of unallocated funds
• Management of account suppression
• Processing account cancellation requests
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies
• Provide maximum service excellence to both internal & external customers.
• Data entry and maintenance
• Administration of direct debit authorities and ensuring that authorities are processing in line with customer agreements
• Performing account maintenance 
• Investigate and resolve issues that arise from data maintenance
• Overflow general administration duties
• Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to Workplace Health and Safety ensuring the safety of yourself and all other people who may be affected by your conduct in the workplace
• Display a Count On Me! service to all internal and external parties.

KEY POSITION CRITERIA:

• Previous experience in a similar role and /or experience in a bookkeeping/accounting role
• An understanding of the regulatory credit risk framework under Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Privacy Act Australia and New Zealand (Privacy). Annual Training will be provided.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong reconciliation and reporting skills with the ability to manipulate and import/export data
• Working knowledge in handling cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS
• Working knowledge of cash allocation, daily balancing and currency conversion.
• Ability to deliver to tight End of Month deadlines.
• Be flexible and able to work under pressure in a fast- paced environment
• Be able to efficiently multi-task and prioritise duties
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft office including Excel, Word and Access
• Ability to deal with a broad range of customers, including owners
• Excellent time management, multitasking and organizational skills
• Flexibility, with a willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks in a fast paced 
  environment
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement strategies
• Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm with a high degree of accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to embrace growth and changing environment, actively supporting process improvement principles
• May involve rotation to other functional areas of the department for training purposes
