Jr. Financial Manager

Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc. is seeking an Administrative Specialist for the Engineering Science Division in Panama City, FL to perform a variety of activities in support of administrative and accounting functional areas such as finance, accounts payable, purchasing, travel expense reports, receptionist, human resources, and other administrative support services. Assist with normal administrative office functions such as setting up and maintaining files, arranging meetings and conferences. Gathers, compiles, and reports on information relevant to supervisor's assignment.The ideal candidate will possess outstanding organization and listening skills, with a strong attention to detail and have previous experience with administrative and accounting tasks.

What you'll do as an Administrative Specialist at ARA

• Support specific projects or technical units with generating reports, purchasing, expense reports, and documents.
• Monitor accounts payable tracker and follow up on discrepancies, ensure all internal/external vendor invoice inquiries are handled timely.
• Enter purchase order vouchers and accounts payable journal entries, reconcile monthly transactions.
• Set up new vendors and vendor changes.
• Assist administrative functions as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Requires B.S. or equivalent with 2 years of experience.
• Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Advanced skills in accounting principles with a thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
