Job Description

 Greenleaf Integrative (www.greenleafintegrative.com) provides high-quality training and support services to humanitarian and development organizations to enhance the resiliency and performance of professionals working in demanding/overseas environments. 

The position is a member of the Training Unit with staff based in Washington, DC, and around the world. The position will help create visually compelling, interactive, performance-based courses that drive positive learner outcomes through role-specific content, experiential learning activities, and cognitive learner exercises. This role will coordinate with team members, clients, and various stakeholders, support the development of course content and design, and ensure the courses meet the highest quality standards and are transferable to an in-person, e-learning, or hybrid environment. Training topics include, but are not limited to the following subjects: new employee orientation, technical sectors (e.g. shelters and settlements, food assistance, economic recovery), grants management, safety, and security overseas, and operational stress mitigation.

Position Description: 

  • FLSA Exempt 
  • Full time 
  • Hybrid position which allows for telework but requires an in-office commitment on a regular basis
  • Based in Washington DC 
  • Salary commensurate to experience, and a benefits package
  • Reports to Training Unit Manager
  • This is an entry-level position

Job duties: 

  • Provide instructional design support to instructional design of internal and external courses and curriculum
  • Serve in a multidisciplinary role on a training team, applying entry-level instructional design expertise to the design, development, and implementation of training products
  • With some guidance, design and develop technology-based courses, using storyboarding, with a heavy emphasis on Self-Directed eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual training, or other instructional methodology packages in accordance with sound instructional design principles
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop course content
  • Use appropriate course authoring tools to create instructional material such as online courses, guides, handouts, worksheets, or manuals to optimize learning. And manipulate and edit digital imagery, video and sound 
  • In consultation with Senior ISD or Senior Team Lead for ISD, conduct needs assessments for the client
  • Other duties as assigned 

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum years of relevant experience (varies by highest degree):
    • Computer technology, training development, instructional systems design, education, instructional design, and development, or relevant field
      • 4-yrs experience with Bachelor's degree
      • 3-yrs experience with Master's degree 
      • 2-yrs experience with PhD 

• US Citizenship 

• Ability to obtain and maintain an interim and final secret security clearance 

Required Experience: 

  • Develop training materials such as PowerPoint presentations, student workbooks, instructor guides, handouts, and activities, in a professional setting.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
  • Familiarity with 508 compliance 
  • Experience producing virtual training events
  • Experience with E-Learning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate 360.

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience supporting end-to-end, instructional design process-based methodology (analysis, design, storyboarding, development, implementation, and evaluation)
  • Experience with digital learning solutions such as videos, infographics, simulations, gamification, audio, micro-learning, and rapid-development multimedia 
  •  Experience with: 

○ USAID/DCHA 

○ International humanitarian and disaster relief 

○ food aid non-governmental organizations 

○ military industry 

○ federal civilian agencies
