Jr. Software Engineer

NOVOS is a drilling process automation system for rigs and rig equipment built by NOV. The system has been widely accepted in land and offshore applications and continues to gain market share as the top drilling automation platform in the industry. The NOVOS team is seeking a product development engineer to continue the innovative process for our industry changing technology.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute and maintain an existing code base
• Collaborate with leads, developers, and customers to architect, implement and build robust new features
• Participate in analyzing, troubleshooting field issues
• Write clean and efficient code
• Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or combined with related experience)
• Position is onsite located at 10353 Richmond Ave., Houston, TX 77042.
• 2 or more years of work experience as a Software Engineer
• Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment, deadlines, and new challenges
• Experience with version control systems like Git, SVN, etc., a plus
• Experience working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins etc., a plus
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of professional standards and quality.
• Creativity and flexibility, high energy, strong work ethic and Strong problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to business users and other teams (design, QA)
• Ability to both collaborate with team members and to work independently

Desired Skills and Experience

• C++ and QT proficiency
• HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript potential
• Comfortable on command line and Linux environment
• Good understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Good analytical or trouble shooting skills
• Understand Source Version Control concepts
