Junior Accountant

Role.  An overview of the opportunity:

Skupos is seeking a Junior Accountant with 1-3 years of experience. who can assist with the day-to-day financial and accounting activities, as well as the timely and accurate preparation of our monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP. The Junior Accountant must be a self- motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a timely manner. This is a fast paced environment, and this position will have high exposure and opportunity for growth and development. Responsibilities.  Your responsibilities will include:

• Complete Month End Close procedures including preparation of journal entries, flux analysis, and account reconciliations 
• Oversee A/R and A/P functions, such as invoicing clients and paying company bills
• Assist Accounting Manager with reporting requests, including quarterly investor updates
• Prepare and record recurring journal entries, as well as one-off adjusting entries
• Help with annual audits and miscellaneous tax requests, such as tax payments and filings
• Support Accounting Manager and Director of Finance on completion of daily & month-end tasks, as well as any ad hoc projects
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies.
• Assist in cleaning up prior month reconciliations and supporting documentation 
• Display coachability and dependability by following instruction and responding to management direction. Must be capable of taking responsibility for own actions and keeping commitments

Skills and Experience.  Candidates should have:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting/Finance required, and 1-3 years related experience and/or training required. CPA not required but a plus
• Flexible and self-directed worker with ability to stay focused and meet goals, while working independently
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to multitask, and meet tight deadlines
• Must possess strong analytical, detailed oriented audit/research documentation skills
• Must possess strong Excel skills as well as demonstrated proficiency with general ledger accounting, financial reporting
• Excellent time management, communications, decision making, and organizational skills 
• Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while continuing to meet goals and deadlines
• Ability to recommend process improvements

Salary is based on experience and location.

Salary range in Denver, CO: $60,000 - $75,000
