Department Overview

Our Applied Technology organization puts some of Motorola Solutions' brightest minds on unique, highly challenging projects. Our Applied Technology Finance team is responsible for budgeting, analysis, accounting and compliance activities. This includes annual budget and plan preparations of sales, costs, cash flow, funding, inventory, receivables, capital, etc. There is also continuous financial reporting, forecasting and analysis, monthly accounting closes, audit and compliance with the FAR and CAS, timely communication of business results and identification of trends, risks and opportunities.
Job Description

Ongoing monitoring, reconciling, and archiving back-up for the department’s expenses, including purchasing cards (P CARDS), vendor procurements (iProcurement), employee expense statements (iExpense) and internal orders. This involves the reconciliation and completion of proper back-up for Government audit purposes.

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, receiving and attaching invoices into an outside reconciliation system, reconciling each expense to the proper accounting codes and project numbers, comparing invoices to purchase orders, relaying any changes to the proper people, completing scanned packages for comprehensive audit back-up, and performing several reconciliations at month end.

Document processes and make recommendations for improvements.

Additional Attributes:

  • Have basic financial knowledge

  • Compliance and / or Audit experience a plus

  • Excellent Excel skills

  • Familiarity with Oracle and Tableau financial systems a plus

    Work independently and as a cooperative team member with various groups including Accounting and Procurement

  • Be detailed and process-oriented with solid problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Take a professional and proactive approach to work

  • Make decisions using sound judgment and consult when appropriate

  • Help support compliance and audit initiatives

  • Have good communication skills

  • Well organized, documents and retains knowledge

Basic Requirements
  • Associates Degree or higher

  • Prior finance experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.
