Junior Accountant
Job Description
Athena Global Advisors, a professional services company that specializes in program management, strategy, and marketing and communications, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their dynamic team. With a focus on connecting clients with their audiences by leveraging diverse talent and expertise, Athena Global Advisors partners with leading innovators in various sectors such as telecommunications, major league sports, business, media and entertainment, philanthropy, and more.
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of Athena Global Advisors. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks essential to ensuring the financial integrity and transparency of the company. These will include assisting with the preparation of financial statements, maintaining and reconciling general ledgers, processing accounts payable and receivable, preparing regular financial reports, and assisting with tax preparation and audits.
Please note this role is in-person in Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis and reporting on a timely and accurate basis
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all entries are posted, and reconciliations are completed
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, including bank and credit card accounts, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal financial reports
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring that invoices are processed timely and accurately
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure financial information is shared accurately and timely
- Assists in the preparation of annual audits
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting software
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
