Junior Accountant

Role.  An overview of the opportunity:

Skupos is seeking a Staff Accountant with 1-3 years of experience. The position will support and execute accounting cycle functions as well as work cross functionally with various departments across the organization. In particular, this individual will work closely with the Accounting team to perform month-end close tasks, billing related matters, and provide support for day to day transactional requirements such as managing accounts payable etc. The Staff Accountant must be a self- motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities. This position will have high exposure and opportunity for growth and development.

Responsibilities.  Your responsibilities will include:

• Complete month-end close tasks including booking journal entries, flux analysis, and account reconciliations
• Managing account status and the invoicing of enterprise contracts
• Research GL items on an as needed basis
• Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed
• Assist Accounting Manager with monthly reporting requests as needed
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies
• Research and resolve accounting issues as they arise
• Help with annual audits and miscellaneous tax requests
• Support Accounting Manager and Director of Finance on completion of daily & month-end tasks, as well as any ad hoc projects
• Utilize an analytical ability to synthesize complex or diverse information. Collect and research data while using intuition and experience to complement data and resolve issues

Skills and Experience.  Candidates should have:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting/Finance from four-year college or university preferred and 1-3 years related experience and/or training required. CPA not required but a plus
• Flexible and self-directed worker with ability to stay focused and meet goals, while working independently
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to multi-task, work and meet tight deadlines
• Must possess strong analytical, detailed oriented audit/research documentation skills
• Comprehension of the monthly closing process
• Must possess strong Excel skills as well as demonstrated proficiency with general ledger accounting, financial reporting

Salary is based on experience and location.

Salary range in Denver, CO: $50,000 - $65,000
