Junior Accountant

This HireStrategy/Addison Group client is a nationally-renowned media platform in the DC Metro Area, who is looking to onboard a junior accountant.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire accounts payable cycle
• Review coding to general ledger
• Maintain vendor contracts and invoices
• Work closely with supply chain team to track inventory purchases and payments
• Perform month end accounts payable reconciliation
• Communicate with vendors to answer inquiries relating to open A/P items
• Cash management, including performing daily and monthly cash reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, preparing weekly check runs and ACH/Wire payments for CFO review
• Assist with managing the asset recovery team including working closely with the asset recovery team to resolve disputes, be the liaison between the customer care and asset recovery team, and assist with process improvements
• Assist with month end close including preparation of account reconciliations, recording journal entries, and investigating variances
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits
• Other duties and projects to support the finance team

• Degree in Finance and/or Accounting is required
• Strong knowledge of general ledger and reconciliations
• Minimum of 1 year of experience necessary
