What You'll Do:

Traeger is looking for a Junior API Developer to join its growing tech team. Our team builds and maintains the Mobile Apps and Web Services that power all the digital experience platforms for Traeger customers, internal and external. You will be an experienced developer who can design, build out, and maintain API endpoints and AWS infrastructure to support business needs.

How You Will Help Us Win:

  • Design, build, and maintain API endpoints in the Serverless Application Framework.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Integrate with backend services, authenticated and open.
  • Identify and correct both system bottlenecks and application bugs.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
  • Integrate deployment into the application’s CI/CD pipeline.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of programming experience in two or more modern web service programming languages (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Elixir, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to ship code & features with a low defect rate.
  • Experience with integrations, REST APIs, GraphQL, Node.js preferred.
  • Knowledge of programming best practices and coding conventions, algorithmic time and space complexity, and principles of distributed systems.
  • Basic knowledge of database and NoSQL systems such as postgres and DynamoDB
  • Working knowledge of the public cloud infrastructure and services in AWS (IAM, VPC, KMS, Systems Manager, S3, RDS, Route53, Lambda, AWS Config, etc.).
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
  • Experience leveraging logging and monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch and new relic is a plus.
  • Relevant security and AWS certifications are a plus.
