Junior AWS Cloud Engineer - Remote
Position Description
We are seeking a Junior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our CGI team!
This is a full-time career opportunity to work on a highly visible transformation (Infrastructure services) projects for one of our long-standing government clients! This role applies deep technical expertise to the design implementation testing and ongoing support of AWS services.
This position can be located remotely anywhere in the US; however the preferred locations are one of our Onshore Delivery Centers: Troy AL; Lafayette LA; Wausau WI; Knoxville TN; Mobile AL; Belton TX; Waterville ME; or Lebanon VA. This role is to be completed in a hybrid capacity.

Your future duties and responsibilities
How you'll make an impact
• Troubleshoots and resolves AWS service issues across development testing and production environments
• Manages AWS services working with internal service groups as required to ensure system availability meets project requirements
• Develops scripts to automate systems administration and monitoring activities
• Analyzes monitoring results to produce recommendations for improving system performance and operational efficiency
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
What you'll bring
• AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification
• 1-2 years of AWS administration experience including API Gateway S3 ECS EKS Fargate EC2 Lambda WAF and CloudTrail
• Excellent troubleshooting and root cause-analysis skills
• Excellent working knowledge of Windows and Linux server technologies
• Experience working with third party service providers such as vendors and internal support groups
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in driving technical problems to resolution
• Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• Familiarity with WebLogic or equivalent application server platforms
• Familiarity with Atlassian (Jira Confluence Bamboo Bitbucket) and other DevOps tools
• Strong Working knowledge of Local and Wide area networking technologies
• Experience support fast-paced development environments utilizing Agile and DevOps methodologies
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to less technical staff (e.g. CGI management and client staff)
• Strong understanding of broader technology context (e.g. network and database technologies)
• Ability to mentor other team members in areas of technical expertise

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $60300 - $133500.'
