Junior Business Analyst (Need Local to TN)

Title: Business Analyst Jr

Location: Nashville, Tennessee 37243 (Remote)

Duration: 14 months

Job Description:

1. Analyse and document business requirements and processes related to public sector service delivery for a single or multiple related State agencies.
2. Formulate alternative solutions to satisfy these requirements, which may involve business process reengineering, and/or the deployment of information technology.
3. Plan and/or conduct end user training for new applications.
4. Prepare cost benefit analyses according to State CBA methodology.
5. Develop and/or oversee plans for the execution of a solution from project inception to conclusion.
6. Construct data models and activity/process models as may be required to define system functions.
7. Provide support for the installation, testing, data conversion, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of information systems.
8. Conduct and document the results of special studies dealing with systems and/or business process issues.
9. Facilitate sessions to gather and document requirements and explore solutions.
10. Superior negotiating, analytical, group facilitation, and relationship management skills.
11. Work effectively with all levels of State staff from clerical through agency executive management.
12. This includes skilful interviewing capability.
13. Possess superior organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
14. Hands-on Data Modeling and Process Modeling experience may be required for some assignments.
15. An understanding of current information technology with an ability to conceptualize solutions to business problems in the most effective and cost-efficient manner. (Note: Current information technology in the State's environment includes:
    1. multi-tier (mainframe, departmental/midlevel, and desktop) computing.
    2. the use of internet and intranet to facilitate service delivery.
    3. electronic data interchange.
    4. imaging.
    5. data warehousing; and,
    6. geographic information systems.
16. The deployment of information technology must be consistent with the State's architectural framework which is based upon the philosophy that information sharing, data integration and network interoperability is the basis for effective and efficient service delivery to the citizens of Tennessee.)
17. An ability to integrate solutions across multiple functional and technical environments is required.
18. Requires a minimum of two years of experience in the last two years. Must hold a BA/BS degree.
