Junior Computer Assisted Translation Specialist

Overview:

IntelliBridge is an award-winning national security company looking for a Junior Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) Specialist to support our contract with a Federal Law Enforcement Client to assist in streamlining and enhancing operational workflows and supporting the implementation of CAT software, machine translation, and optical character recognition (OCR) as a part of the translation workflow. The selected employee will work with the linguist user base and relevant stakeholders as directed by the Program Manager's priorities.

Clearance:

Active Top Secret clearance is required at time of application. Candidate must have the ability to successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph examination if successful CI Poly has not been recorded within the past five years.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Assist in managing translation projects using CAT tools and workflows.
• Assist in pre-processing translation projects by applying OCR, preparing source files, and extracting text.
• Manage and maintain translation memories (TM) and terminology databases (TB).
• Train users at basic and intermediate levels on the use of CAT tools in person and via Skype.
• Provide user support by troubleshooting workflow issues via email, Skype and in person.
• Generate, track, and analyze metrics to provide solution recommendations.
• Gather end-user requirements to generate business and technical requirements.
• Participate in internal and external technical exchanges to provide and receive updates.
• Document and maintain user guides for different CAT tools.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (preferably in science, technology, engineering, or foreign language).
• Ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly and adapt to technology changes.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to be understood by laypeople (written and spoken).
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access/Outlook) and SharePoint
• Linguist translator experience and/or Language Service Provider (LSP) experience.
• Experience using CAT tools (preferably Trados or Lilt).

Preferred (but not required) Qualifications:

• Experience with managing translation memory, performing alignment, and providing formal/informal training and/or user support of CAT tools.
• Experience with managing terminology database.
• Experience with OCR software.
• Project Management skills or experience.
• IT troubleshooting and tech support.
• Experience in the Law Enforcement or Intelligence communities.
