Junior Developer, Ruby on Rails

About the Role:

As a Junior Developer, Ruby on Rails at Entera, you’ll contribute to our React frontend applications that service our core discovery platform and our Ruby on Rails backend API. You’ll work tightly with our Senior Engineers and the rest of our engineering organization to make sure that our systems convert and that our customers have a great experience using our platform. You’ll be joining a team of highly skilled and motivated Backend, Frontend, and ML engineers helping to deliver on the Entera product roadmap. This is a fast-paced role in a rapidly growing engineering organization and an opportunity to make tangible contributions to the business as it grows.

What you’ll do:

• Work to develop features in our customer-facing systems 
• Partner with engineers to integrate backend features and models
• Own projects from conception to final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Improve our frontend toolkit by keeping our architecture modern and lean
• Test and present your code
• Learn to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code
• Participate in code reviews
• Work in team sprints 

Who You Are:

• 2+ years of professional experience in relevant technical software developer roles.  
• Proficiency in both front-end and back-end development, with high emphasis on back-end experience.
• Experience working in a collaborative, team environment.
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React, and Amber.
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, and .Net.
• Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
• Basic understanding of Git within a team environment.
• Working knowledge of API’s in customer facing applications.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
